Days to Remember: One-room Schoolhouses in the Eastern Townships of Quebec by Bev Taber Smith Recently, the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Sherbrooke & District club launched a book called Days to Remember: One-room Schoolhouses in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. Local Archives - BibliographyDuring 2004 and 2005, with the financial support of Canadian Heritage, the MCDC inventoried a number of historical documents and photographs in order to document the history of the English-speaking community in our region (Amiante, Lotbinière and L'Érable). Many documents were photographed and are available for viewing in a series of binders at the MCDC local community library, located at 506 Alfred Street, Thetford Mines. Opening hours at the library are 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Mondays and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. They can also be viewed in a CD format, which can be purchased directly from MCDC for $5.00 plus $2.50 for shipping expenses.
