The Megantic English-speaking Community Development Corporation, better known as MCDC, is proud to announce the official launch of its new video clip “It feels good to give”. This video clip was done in collaboration with A.S. Johnson High School of Thetford Mines and was made possible through a grant from Fonds régional d’investissement jeunesse Chaudière-Appalaches (FRIJ) as part of the “I volunteer” project that was launched in the spring of 2011.

The purpose of the video clip is to promote volunteerism among the youth. Since September 2011, through the “I volunteer” project, 32 youth from A.S. Johnson High School have actively participated in various volunteering opportunities such as holding sport clinics, collecting non-perishable food items, visiting seniors, helping at the local SPA chapter, and others.

“We are so pleased with the results of this initiative and the video clip is a wonderful demonstration of that. It is exciting and vibrant and is a true reflection of the desire of the youth to be involved in their community.” said Ann Marie Powell, President of MCDC. Lisa Larente, Principal at A.S. Johnson High School added “Volunteerism is a great way to help students expand their horizons and develop their leadership skills and self-esteem. This video clip will be instrumental in promoting volunteerism among our students. We are grateful to MCDC and FRIJ for this project.”
