Off-beat Literary Evening!

We are delighted to invite you to an Off-beat Literary Evening, featuring two local writers!

There will be a book reading and signing by Jocelyne Mullis, and a poetry reading by Frank Beltrano.

Find out more about our two guest speakers!

Jocelyne Mullis - Pearls, Pills & Vodka

Lévis local, Jocelyne Mullis, member of the Writers' Union of Canada (TWUC), as well as the Quebec Writers Federation (QWF), is the author of a recently published book of short stories called Pearls, Pills & Vodka.

The stories are all set in a retirement centre but this is far from an ordinary visit to a retirement home!  We follow Amanda as she meets friends Olga, Phil, Bert... and even the odd gigolo or two!  Enjoy tales of romance, friendship, mystery and humour.

You can find out more about the book, and Jocelyne, on her website: https://www.jocelynemullis.com.  She was also featured in an article in the Quebec Chronicle Telegraph which you can read here.

The book would make a lovely stocking filler so it's definitely something to think about as you do your gift shopping this year!  You can find it for sale at La Maison Anglaise, and at La Librairie Pantoute.  It is equally available online at Amazon here, and as a e-book.  Jocelyne will also have some copies available for purchase at the book reading and signing event.

Help us support and encourage a local author!

Frank Beltrano - The Poetry Factory

Frank Beltrano has written a poem and folded it into a paper airplane that summer when men landed on the moon. Since then he has had two poems ride the London, Ontario buses, had a poem printed on a postcard, had the same award-winning poem printed on 1,000 posters.

He has been published in journals, in both Canada and the US, has read in bars, coffee shops, library basements and art galleries, erased his way to second place in Geist magazine's annual Erasure Contest.  Most recently, his poems have been published in Rattle Magazine, Fledgling Rag, Beliveau Review and U.S. Worksheets 66.

As well as sharing some of his poems with us during the evening, Frank will also be discussing an upcoming venture for the Lévis community, a series of poetry writing workshops called "The Poetry Factory."  Come along to find out more!

This is a free event.  Don't forget to sign up to let us know we'll be expecting you!
